Stapleton Veterinary Hospital provides a wide range of services and products that can help you maintain the general health of your companion:
• Annual wellness examinations
• Regular physical and dental examinations
• Vaccinations as necessary:
Distemper: 8, 12 and 16 weeks of age, then every three years.
Rabies: 16 weeks of age, one year later, then every three years.
Bordetella: Annually in dogs being boarded and groomed.
Canine Influenza Virus: Annually in dogs if necessary for boarding & grooming. Initial series of 2 vaccines required.
Leptospirosis Vaccine: Annual vaccination. This is a bacterial (spirochete) disease spread in the urine of wildlife and can affect urban dogs as well as those visiting the mountains. Initial series of 2 vaccines required.
FVRCP AKA Feline Distemper: Given at 8, 12, and 16 weeks of age, one year later, then every three years.
Rabies: 16 weeks of age, one year later, then every three years.
Leukemia: Given at 9 weeks of age or older, then every other year to cats who are exposed to other cats. (i.e. pets that go outside). Initial series of 2 vaccines required.FIV/FeLV testing strongly recommended prior to vaccination.

• Microchip placement
• Nutrition counseling

• Prescription veterinary diets

Regular screening can help us find diseases before symptoms are obvious in your pet. If we detect a disease early, we have better success in treating the disease or may be able to slow the time until symptoms start to show. Routine blood work can help detect potential problem areas such as:
• Kidney disease
• Liver disease
• Diabetes
• Adrenal disease
• Thyroid disease
