Katie Hynes, Certified Veterinary Technician
Katie is a Denver native and enjoys hiking, camping, and snowboarding. She enjoys most outdoor activities in her free time. She has two dogs, a shepherd mix and a deaf boxer, and three cats, a maine coon, a munchkin, and a medium hair orange tabby that she has had since he was 5 days old! She graduated from Bel-Rea in December 2015 & joined Stapleton Veterinary Hospital in January 2016.
Alicia Patcyk, Certified Veterinary Technician
Alicia grew up in a small town in western Pennsylvania where, from a young age, she owned almost everything from a rabbit to a horse. She graduated from Vet Tech Institute of Pittsburgh in early 2014 and got her certification shortly after. She has worked in different types of clinics ever since, though she has always enjoyed the fast pace of a hospital the most. Alicia relocated to Colorado in late December of 2016 after visiting for the past year and joined the Stapleton Veterinary Hospital team in early February of 2017. Outside of work she enjoys hiking with her 14 year old border collie mix named Nikki and exploring all the fun adventures of her new state.
Elena Ernst, Certified Veterinary Technician
Elena is originally from western New York. She graduated from Medaille College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology. She has two biped children, that are now teenagers. In the picture from left to right is Rena, Jackie Chan, Spook E., Clark D. (Danger Kitty) and Fergus (aka Fergalicious). Elena is active with the Boy Scouts of America and Venture Scouts with Kids. She has been married to Tom for 22 years. She enjoys anything to do with the outdoors! Her hobbies are painting, reading, gardening, finding free time, traveling, & spending time with her family.
Branden Lafferty, Certified Veterinary Technician
Branden grew up in Berwyn, a suburb of Chicago. When he moved to Denver in 2010 to attend Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology, the incredible Rocky Mountains slowly replaced his beloved skyline. Hiking and fishing became weekly occurrances, and his over all love for the outdoors has kept him in Colorado for the past 7 years. Although he misses his family back home, his family with his girlfriend of 5 years Casey, has grown to include a Black Lab named Penny, a Springer Spaniel named Max, 2 Mississippi Map turtles named Lewis & Clark, and a King snake named Lady Galadriel. Brandon joined Stapleton Veterinary Hospital in the winter of 2017.
Amanda Street, Certified Veterinary Technician
Amanda was born and raised in Greeley, Colorado. She graduated from Colorado Mountain College in 2002 with an associated degree in Veterinary Technology. She relocated to Aurora and joined the Stapleton Veterinary Hospital family in 2017. She currently has 2 fur kids, a cat named Mia and a miniature Schnauzer named Delilah. When she is not working, she enjoys being a new mom to her daughter Leighla. Amanda also loves to play darts & watching football with her husband Ryan.
Brooke Shisler, Certified Veterinary Technician
Brooke is a Colorado native who grew up in Pueblo, CO. She attended PIMA Medical Institute in Colorado Springs and received her degree as a Veterinary Technician in 2016. She worked at an emergency clinic for 2 years before deciding to move to Denver. She joined the Stapleton Veterinary Hospital team in January of 2018. In her free time, she enjoys binge watching Grey's Anatomy, taking naps and eating pizza! You can also find her reading great books and adventuring Colorado style-traveling to mountain towns to eat tasty treats with her boyfriend and two dachshunds, Dabsy & Dexter. Brooke is also an avid fan of the Broncos & Rockies!!
